President of thethe World Academy of Arts "NEW ERA" Anatoly Silov

To whom it may concern

Please be informed that our Academy has received 92 letters from citizens and non-governmental organizations of Turkey and other countries with an indication of the fact that during the protests in Taksim Gezi Park, Istanbul, a full member of the Academy Prof. Ahmet Atan had committed a few incorrect statements on his Twitter on the issue of the protesters’ nationality. Later, the tweets had been deleted. We got a screen capture of the deleted statements.

The Academy’s administration expresses gratitude to all the people for the immediate information and for paying attention to our activities.
Please also be advised that Ahmet Atan is not the vice president of our Academy as it is erroneously stated on his personal website (www.ahmetatan.com). Prof. Ahmet Atan is the Adviser on Academy exhibition policy(www.artnewera.com/academiki-1.html).

I would like to remind you that there is a precise definition on the “Academy’s mission” page(www.artnewera.com/missiya-1.html): “Our goals and tasks are… advocacy and development of the social practice of humane ideas and principles, tolerance, democracy, world culture and interethnic civil consent.”

Therefore, Mr. Ahmet Atan expressed his opinion only as a private citizen and his tweets have no relation to the Academy’s official opinion.

The STATUTE OF TITLES of the World Academy of Arts "NEW ERA" says:
4.3 The Presidium of the Academy can decide to deprive a member of the title if an Academy’s conferee commits an act (or shows inaction) that discredits the Academy’s reputation (www.artnewera.com/information-1.html).

The administration of the Academy is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.
We will inform you on our website of the investigation and the action taken.

From 20th to 30th June 2013 the International Festival of Arts Russalka-2013 was held at the Black Sea cost, Bulgaria. Traditionally, the organizers of the Festival were the "Russalka" International Art Center and the Art Gallery Panev.

The festival participants express profound gratitude to Maria Baneva, the President of the "Russalka" International Art Center, and Gabriel Panev, the manager of the gallery, for the excellent arrangements and personal approach to each participant.

The artists from across the world had the opportunity to communicate with each other on creative themes. Contemporary painting and plastic art of Bulgaria, Russia, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Jordan, Azerbaijan and Turkey were exhibited at the festival.

The joint work of such original artists helps them enrich their creative style, expand their horizons and get them acquainted with modern trends in the art of different countries. The exhibition was held after a creative work period. All the works were unique and greatly different and many of them had elements of national traditions and culture.

The opening was attended by Dr. Antonyia Parvanova, the deputy of the European Parliament, Vice President of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE); representatives of Bulgarian literary society and mass media.
The World Academy of Arts “New Era” this year was represented by its President Anatoly Silov (Russia), Hristo Panev (Bulgaria) and Mir Nadir Zeynalov (Azerbaijan).

June 5, 2012. The creative meeting in Udalyanchi, China

The full members of the World’s Academy of Arts “New Era” got together at the creative meeting in the city of Udalyanchi on the 5th June 2012.
The organizers of the forum offered them a rich social program.

"There is a phenomenal area in China called Udalyanchi. One who looks at the local scenery begins to feel as if standing on the surface of another planet. Everything is different there. The black volcanic lava has spread all over the place, everything is covered by this. Nothing appears green in the area. The huge gaps and unexpected lakes give the landscape some alien look.
It was very interesting to paint there, the sketches turned out unusual, too."
Our academics donated their works to the organizers their works.

In the creative process…

The “Thanksgiving” exhibition in Velikiy Novgorod

The “Thanksgiving” exhibition performed during the course of the project “The Common Cultural Space” was opened in the Museum of Fine Arts of the Novgorod Museum (St. Sophia Square, 2) on the 27th July, 2012.
The full members of our Academy Alexander Smirnov (Moscow), Yuri Popkov (Moscow) and Alexander Tikhomirov (Blagoveshchensk) took part in the exhibition organization. The President of the World’s Academy of Arts “New Era” Anatoly Silovgave a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. He said that the exhibition had brought together the like-minded artists from the remote parts of the country, who preserved a friendly, cultural and spiritual connection. The common feature of their art is the search for the spiritual sources and retrospect to a national culture. Their works, carried out in various art techniques (such as pictures, shutter painting and sculpture) and made of different kinds of materials, give people the light of spiritual empathy and the authors’ passion.
The special guest Bedros Kirkorov rendered some of his songs.
Alexander Tikhomirov’s shutter painting is a modern branch of the religious painting rooted in the ancient Russian icon painting. A native of Moscow, graduate of the Stroganov School Department of monumental and decorative painting (G.Korzhev’s workshop), he came to the near-border city of Blagoveshchensk in the eighties. It was there that he established himself as a founder of the shutter painting genre. The master works with old wooden window shutters and that has-been material often helps the author in searching for a new subject. Hardly can anybody be left untouched by the holy faces on the shutters including those people who are quite far from the Orthodox culture.
The lyricism of Moscow artist Yuri Popkov attracts attention to his works. He paints the landscapes and still-life pictures with a gentle hand and certain irony. He likes the homeliness with its rich decoration, conciseness and graphic power, sincerity and humanizing meaning from the inside.
“The sculpture is an icon for the street that can be set in the open air.” With these words the sculptor Alexander Smirnov. expresses his attitude to the basic concept of his works. His art has been dedicated to the spiritual theme for twenty years already. His philosophy is revealed in a sculptural evocation of the saints and hermits, in his works on the biblical theme or parables, in the images of death and resurrection, judgment and penance, Good and Evil, in the plastic images of people looking for a way to the Heaven and spiritual purity.

Exhibition in Qiu Chuji

The 3rd North Asian exhibition of calligraphy, paintings and photo was opened on 3 September.

Masters and delegates of higher education institutions of Northern and South Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia, Russia attended the exhibition. Alexander Tikhomirov, an active member of the World Academy of Arts "New Era", the chairman of Amur regional organization “Creative Union of Artists”, Alexey Beda, a candidate member of the World Academy of Arts "New Era", the deputy chairman of the branch of the Union of Artists of Russia in Krasnodar and Rushan Gubaidulin, an artist, a member of the bureau of painting of the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg.
It is quite natural that Chinese art, by the right of the receiving party, was presented most widely. This was traditional ink and wash painting – nobody can beat people of the Celestial Empire with it, and calligraphy which the Chinese people place above other directions. They are sure that this art form is presented by impulses from the space transferred via an intermediary-artist and his brush.
"However, China is now so open to the world that we can find realism, neo-realism, impressionism and many other directions in the works of Chinese artists", Alexander Tikhomirov, a national artist of the Russian Federation, said. However, among hundreds of paintings it was possible to unmistakably guess what country and culture they represent.
Paintings of the Russian masters were brought to this exhibit by Liu Minciu, the director of the Museum of Russian art in Harbin, Honorary member of the World Academy of Arts “New era”. What is characteristic for this exhibition is that all the works represented are for sale. The pictures are still art subjects and not auction subjects.

Here you can see a short photo report.
